Hourly position.

Annual salary is $50,000.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to support the Oconee County Administration & Attorney team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. The Executive Assistant/Paralegal will handle a range of administrative duties, manage daily schedules, coordinate travel, prepare documents, and serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Conducts legal research in support of Attorney.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job duties satisfactorily. Calendar Management: Organize and manage the executive’s schedule, including meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements, ensuring effective time management
Communication: Serve as a liaison between the executive and internal/external stakeholders. Screen calls, emails, and requests, responding on behalf of the executive when appropriate
Meeting Coordination: Arrange and prepare for meetings, including setting up conference rooms, preparing agendas, compiling materials, and recording minutes as needed
Travel Arrangements: Plan and coordinate domestic and international travel, including booking flights, accommodations, and ground transportation
Document Preparation: Prepare, edit, and format documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail
Project Assistance: Assist with special projects and research tasks, ensuring timely completion and keeping the executive informed of project status
File and Record Management: Organize and maintain files, records, and other important documentation, both physical and digital
Expense Tracking: Manage and submit expense reports and track reimbursements according to company policies
Knowledge of or willingness to learn relevant federal and state laws, regulations, policies, for organizational functions and delivery of services
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public, and colleagues

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficiency with office productivity tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and calendar management software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
Highly organized and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Strong time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate needs and stay ahead of tasks
Self-motivated and desire to learn and acquire new skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
3+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or similar role supporting senior executives

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

Required: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred: None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

This position has the following special vision requirements: close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a relatively safe, and secure office environment.
