Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior CNC Machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC equipment for the production of high‑precision components. This role requires advanced machining expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Machining

Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines (3‑axis, 4‑axis, and/or 5‑axis)
Develop and optimize toolpaths using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or similar)
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for various materials and applications
Perform complex machining operations including contouring, pocketing, and tight‑tolerance features

Precision Manufacturing

Machine parts to close tolerances and high surface finish requirements
Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
Conduct in‑process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments

Troubleshooting & Process Improvement

Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, and programming issues
Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, quality, and tool life
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure efficient production
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department

Leadership & Collaboration

Serve as a technical resource for less‑experienced machinists
Provide guidance on best practices in setup, programming, and machining
Maintain professional communication and documentation of machining processes

Safety & Maintenance

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Maintain clean, organized, and well‑functioning equipment and work areas
Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues as needed

Required Qualifications

7+ years of CNC machining experience
Advanced knowledge of CNC programming (G‑code and CAM software)
Strong experience with precision machining and tight‑tolerance work
Ability to independently set up and run complex jobs
Excellent blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi‑axis machining (4‑axis and/or 5‑axis)
Background in high‑precision industries such as aerospace, medical, tooling, or advanced manufacturing
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies

Skills & Competencies

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective time management and organizational skills
Commitment to quality, safety, and professional standards
