Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and resident-focused Dietary Director to lead our Food & Nutrition Services Department. This leadership position is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for skilled nursing facilities.

Responsibilities

Direct all daily operations of the Dietary Department for our skilled nursing facility.
Ensure meals are nutritious, appetizing, and served according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, and resident preferences.
Maintain compliance with CMS, Ohio Department of Health, OSHA, and local health department regulations.
Lead, hire, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate dietary staff.
Partner with the Registered Dietitian, Nursing, Speech Therapy, and Administration to provide outstanding nutritional care.
Manage department budgets, food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
Oversee sanitation, infection control, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
Prepare for state surveys and maintain survey readiness at all times.
Monitor resident satisfaction and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Plan special meals, holidays, and facility events.

Qualifications

Certified Dietary Manager (CDM, CFPP) preferred or eligibility to obtain certification.
ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of management experience in a healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing setting.
Strong understanding of CMS regulations, therapeutic diets, food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention.
Experience with budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and inventory management.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
