Full Job Description

Job Overview
As a member of the leadership team, the SCL Program Supervisor shares responsibility with the community leader and other members of the leadership team for the overall growth and direction of L’Arche Clinton. Guided by the mission, identity, and charter of L’Arche, the SCL Program Supervisor is responsible for supporting the overall quality of life of the core members and assistants in the community and overseeing management of his or her respective home(s) or program(s). In conjunction with the leadership team, an SCL Program Supervisor provides collaborative oversight for orientation, training, formation, accompaniment, and evaluation of assistants in their program(s); direct care responsibilities for core members in their program(s); and other general community activities, such as community events, celebrations, hosting visitors, L’Arche outreach, etc.

Duties

Quality of Life for the Core Members in our homes (24 hour SCL) or hourly programs

Address and ensure plans and goals for physical care, safety, personal growth and support, spiritual growth and support, community life are being carried out for each program core member.
Direct program teams in providing consistency and continuity in the lives of program core members.
Plan and implement formation, orientation, and on-going training of program assistants regarding individual core members and core member related issues.
Coordinate any necessary in-service sessions for program assistants.
Attend program core member’s annual individual care plan (ICP) meeting and ensure teams are developing and implementing person centered support plans. Ensure that each core member has a voice in the decision-making and planning of his or her own life and in the life of the community.
Work with guardians and family members, managed care organizations (MCOs), legal representatives, insurance providers and targeted case managers and others to provide oversight of medical care and services for program core members, including scheduling, attending, and documenting of appointments, as well as medication administration.
Provide training and support to program teams in managing the homes and hourly program, including household responsibilities, record keeping, finances, communication with professionals, maintenance and upkeep of house, equipment, and vehicles. Ensure that all program members are following fire and safety procedures and emergency plans.
Be aware of and oversee follow-up of any incidents and illnesses with program core members. Support each home and assist with finding appropriate resources when any core member is in crisis.
Ensure that assistants and core members are aware of the traditions and spiritual life of the home and of the community, and that these values are being lived in each house and program.

Quality of Life for Assistants

Ensure complete and compliant training of assistants in all state and agency required trainings.
Support the personal and spiritual growth of program assistants.
Provide functional accompaniment and support to assistants individually, and teams as a whole.
Coordinate assistants time off requests in conjunction with the DCS.

Administrative Duties

Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Validate and submit timesheets for program employees.
Ensure core member program files are maintained at the office and at the houses, and consistent between the two locations.
Evaluate Assistants at 3 months and yearly.
Share on-call supervisor responsibilities during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Formation

Assure continuity of traditions in the homes.
Oversee accompaniment of program assistants.
Plan and lead formation in the homes and community as needed.

Maintenance and Coordination of Community Life

Facilitate regular team meetings in each program.
Assist with coordination of community events and celebrations.
Be aware of and committed to the contents of the current community mandate, the L’Arche identity and mission statements, the Charter of L’Arche, and other important L’Arche documents and policies.
Be aware of and follow all federal, state, and L’Arche rules and regulations.
Assist directly (i.e., provide direct care coverage) in the homes or with hourly services when necessary.
