Full Job Description

Position Overview:

Service Account Managers are responsible for business development though relationship driven account management and technical quoting skills of small and large service/construction projects. Desired projects can be anything from deficiency repair to equipment replacement, retrofitting and re-modifications, to design build projects. Experience with plumbing and mechanical equipment, systems, design, and load calculations, is paramount. This position should be able to demonstrate the ability in comparing the various plumbing/mechanical systems with respect to cost, ROI, and utility savings that will show customers value. They should also understand ALL offerings available at MMI, be able to solicit work, secure project quotes from subs/suppliers, procure materials, execute the project (as needed), and build lasting relationships with the customer.

Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in area of specialty, or relevant industry certifications.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. 5+ years of sales/marketing/account management.

2. 10+ years of experience as a mechanical technician, or in a related area.

Essential Functions:

1. Achieve the minimum sales goal, as required, in total annual sales.

2. Achieve a minimum overall gross margin of 30% on total annual sales.

3. Assist in acquiring a minimum of 5 Planned Maintenance Program per quarter, for a total of 20 per year.

4. Acquire a minimum of 3 new customers per quarter, or a total of 12 per year.

5. Provide products, service, equipment, and technical/engineering information by answering questions and requests.

6. Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional/technical personnel.

7. Generate and deliver impactful bids/quotes (proposals) that lead to 85% accepted work.

8. Complete all requirements for Key Accounts as detailed in the Company’s Key Account Management Program.

9. Coordinate some form of customer interaction/appreciation event (i.e. visit, lunch and learn, presentation, tour, etc.).

10. Develop customer's staff by offering and providing technical information/training.

11. Ensure that quarterly customer satisfaction has been met on all POC/KAM Accounts.

12. Complete the Project Acquisition Phase, as detailed in the MMI Project Cycle Process.

13. Assist in the Project Coordination Phase, as detailed in the MMI Project Cycle Process.

14. Assist in the Project Completion and Review Phase, as detailed in the MMI Project Cycle Process.

15. Maintain an active customer list, complete with contact information and frequency of communication.

16. Maintain an active Sales Pipeline at all times.

17. Collect, analyze, prepare, and present a summary of personal sales data, as requested.

18. Constantly seek awareness and understanding of federal, state, and local legal requirements, study new and existing legislation; anticipate future legislation; be able to advise customers on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements.

19. Contribute to sales effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.

20. Attend and be fully prepared for all meetings requested by your supervisor.

21. Assist in the Execution Phase, as detailed in the MMI Project Cycle Process.
