Position Summary

Vescent Technologies seeks a full-time Electronics Technician to build, test, and troubleshoot electronic circuit boards, subassemblies, and finished products supporting cutting-edge applications including quantum computing hardware, optical atomic clocks, and advanced laboratory systems. We are looking for someone with excellent hands-on skills, exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm to learn. This full-time, on-site role offers significant opportunities for skill development and professional growth and reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

· Populate circuit boards, solder components, and assemble electronic products per written instructions

· Perform functional testing, calibration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of assembled electronic modules

· Document yields and performance test results

· Collaborate with Engineering, Prototyping, and QC staff to further refine processes and work instructions

· Work autonomously in an ESD sensitive environment

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma and either 2+ years of electronics experience, quantum technician training, Associate’s degree, or relevant technical certificate

· Familiarity with electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)

· Experience soldering and replacing through-hole and surface mount components

· Comfort reading electronic schematics and wiring diagrams

· Excellent dexterity, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and comfort using microscopes

· Commitment to workplace safety practices

· Strong communication and priority management skills to work with team members and supervisors

· Organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment

Desirable Additional Skills

· Experience with fine-pitch SMD rework

· IPC Soldering Certification

· Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry, optics, and control theory

· Demonstrated familiarity of the safe operation of light fabrication equipment (dremel, belt sander, laser cutter, etc)
