Stampede currently owns and operates more than 150 miles of crude gathering and transportation pipeline and over 175 miles of produced water gathering pipeline across more than one million combined dedicated acres. Stampede also operates a robust fresh water supply, storage, and distribution system, as well as the Ren Compressor Station and associated gas gathering and gas lift infrastructure in the northeastern DJ Basin. Stampede currently transports more than 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 100,000 barrels of produced water per day, and gathers more than 75 MMcf of natural gas per day.

Summary
The Gas System Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of natural gas gathering, compression, transmission, and distribution systems. This position monitors system performance, controls gas flow and pressure, responds to operational issues, and ensures compliance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. The Gas System Operator works closely with field operations, maintenance personnel, and engineering teams to optimize system performance and maintain uninterrupted service.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Monitor and control natural gas gathering, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Operate valves, regulators, compressors, meters, and associated equipment.
- Monitor gas flow rates, pressures, and volumes to maintain system integrity.
- Utilize SCADA and control systems to track operating conditions and identify abnormalities.
- Respond to alarms, system upsets, outages, leaks, and emergency situations.
- Coordinate planned outages, maintenance activities, and startup/shutdown procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, pipelines, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and regulatory records.
- Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
- Support pipeline integrity, risk management, and emergency response programs.
- Coordinate with field technicians, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours response activities.

Education and Experience (required):
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in natural gas operations, pipeline operations, compression, or related oil and gas roles.
- Working knowledge of gas system operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to read P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
Education and Experience (preferred):
- Associate degree or technical certification in an energy-related field.
- Experience with SCADA systems.
- Operator Qualification (OQ) certification.
- Knowledge of DOT, PHMSA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
o Position is subject to ongoing drug testing as a term of continued employment.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report, and good driving habits

Additional Information
Compensation:
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $40.00 - $43.00 hourly in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

Location:
This position is located Briggsdale, CO. This position isn’t available for remote work. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, no relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a field environment. This entails working outside in variable weather conditions. Employee could be exposed to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations or dust.
Physical Demands:
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
Position Type and Working Hours:
This is a full-time position. This position will require working nights and weekends occasionally as dictated by the operational needs of the field. Typical work hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Employees must be capable and willing to work overtime as required. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.
Travel:
Occasional travel to work site locations may be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, field visits, or visits to onsite locations.
