Are you a strategic relationship builder who enjoys working with executive leaders, solving complex business challenges, and helping organizations achieve their long-term goals?

Socket Fiber is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to lead, retain, and grow our most valuable enterprise and strategic customer relationships. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, aligning advanced telecommunications and technology solutions with customer business objectives, long-term growth plans, and measurable outcomes.

As a Strategic Account Manager, you'll be responsible for the retention, expansion, and strategic development of a portfolio of high-value accounts. You'll work closely with C-suite executives, IT leaders, and operational decision-makers to understand their business goals, identify opportunities, and develop long-term partnership strategies that create value for both the customer and Socket Fiber.

This role goes beyond traditional account management. Success comes from building executive trust, driving customer retention, identifying growth opportunities, and positioning Socket Fiber as a long-term technology partner rather than simply a service provider.

A Day in the Life

Your day may include reviewing account performance, evaluating customer health indicators, planning strategic account initiatives, and meeting with executive stakeholders to discuss business objectives and future technology needs. You may collaborate with engineering and operations teams on large-scale projects, conduct business reviews, develop growth strategies, or negotiate long-term service agreements.

Success in this role comes from building strong executive relationships, understanding customer priorities, anticipating future needs, and delivering solutions that support long-term business success.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

Manage and maintain relationships with an assigned portfolio of enterprise and large business customers
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer needs, questions, and service expansion opportunities
Identify opportunities to grow accounts through additional services, locations, or technology solutions
Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction
Develop account strategies to support long-term retention and revenue growth
Present telecommunications solutions including internet, voice, data, and fiber services
Prepare proposals, presentations, and reports related to customer performance and revenue growth
Negotiate agreements and renewals while maintaining strong client relationships
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery and issue resolution
Track and report on account activity, sales performance, and customer engagement

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing enterprise, strategic, or Fortune 1000 customer relationships.
Familiarity with consultative or relationship-based sales approaches
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify new revenue opportunities
Strong business acumen and strategic planning skills.
Experience engaging executive and C-suite stakeholders.
Experience working with CRM systems and managing account pipelines

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:

2–5 years of professional experience in account management, business sales, or customer relationship management
Experience in the telecommunications industry
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously
Professional presence when interacting with business clients and leadership teams
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships
