POSITION DESCRIPTION: Accounting Specialist/Bookkeeper

STATUS: Full Time

FLSA: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Controller

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Accounting Specialist supports accounting operations by managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, account reconciliations, month end close processes, and accounting support for on-site retail and F&B outlets. This position ensures accurate financial records, timely processing of financial transactions, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Payable

Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all required supporting documentation and approvals are obtained.
Maintain vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly.
Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding items.

Accounts Receivable

Prepare and distribute member invoices/statements.
Apply customer payments and maintain accurate account balances.
Monitor outstanding receivables.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies and member inquiries.
Reconcile accounts receivable balances.

Accounting

Prepare and post assigned journal entries.
Preform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with month-end close.
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Support accounting functions for on-site retail and F&B operations including daily sales reconciliation and cash balancing.
Preform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence and reports.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Desktop experience is a plus.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Compensation commensurate with experience.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
