Job Summary: Cleans and supplies patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, and any other areas, as assigned to the Housekeeping Department as required. Provides assistance to Supervisors and Management Staff with the work performed by employees to ensure the established standards are met. Assists with meeting customer requirements, even when outside typical areas of responsibility. Maintains a high level of productivity while working safely and dependably. Works effectively with other team members and continues to improve and develop skills and knowledge.
Essential Functions:

The schedule for a Housekeeping position is 2nd Shift – Full-Time, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends, holidays, and shifts required.

Hourly pay rate for 2nd shift is $18.95.

Ability to determine appropriate cleaning chemicals used to maintain various surfaces (incl. vinyl, painted, ceramic tile, metal, brick, wood, cork, concrete) as well as performing finishing techniques to protect/preserve various floor finishes.

Ability to maintain a hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition.

Ability to perform specific cleaning tasks, including dusting horizontal surfaces, and maintaining assigned equipment for cleanliness, and reporting needed repairs to equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures.

MUST be punctual and maintain regular attendance.

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: High school diploma or GED. General Education; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
Minimum Experienced Required: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment, of safety practices as related to work. Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures; accept constructive criticism, and ability to interact well with co-workers, hospital staff and visitors. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Contractor or personnel is required to comply with required training under OSHA standards, and Health and Safety Code related to sanitation, and infectious diseases. Any other training to completed will be directed by the employee's worksite location Project Manager.
Language Skills Required: Ability to perform aforementioned tasks in English, read and write. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, service requests, container labels, product information, operating and maintenance instructions, directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and to convert standard time into military time.
Investigation: Must complete the Federal fingerprint and eAPP background process. Must return signed verification of receiving the Job Description. Must be a U.S. Citizenship to be eligible for a background check and base access. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
