About Our Client

I'm working with a well-established, privately owned general contractor in Columbus, Ohio that is looking to add an Estimator with strong multifamily construction experience to its growing team.The standout benefit? You work a four-day week, with only one day required in the office. The company has built its culture around trusting experienced professionals to manage their workload without requiring them to sit behind a desk five days a week.

Job Description

Prepare detailed estimates for multifamily construction projects
Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate project budgets
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
Assist with preconstruction, budgeting, and GMP development
Work with Project Managers and field teams to ensure estimates are accurate and achievable
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors throughout the bidding process
Participate in pre-bid meetings and project turnover

The Successful Applicant

Previous estimating experience within multifamily woodframe construction
Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scopes, and subcontractor pricing
Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency with common estimating and construction software
