Full Job Description

To provide support for Camp Mary Orton business operations by ensuring a safe, high-quality experience for our customers and guests. Facilitators create safe, engaging programs that help participants build communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. The Facilitator will lead groups of 8–24 participants through experiential learning activities, including team‑building initiatives, games, and indoor/outdoor ropes course, and adventure-based elements.

Responsibilities:

· Facilitate 2–3-hour team‑building programs tailored to group goals, of groups of 8 –24 people.

· Maintain physical and emotional safety for all participants.

· Inspect and set up the planned activities prior to group arrival and properly store all equipment after the group leaves Operate static and dynamic belay systems.

· Follow all property opening/closing procedures.

· Assess group and individual needs; adjust activities accordingly.

· Provide opportunities for reflection and learning.

· Manage group dynamics, conflict, and emotional responses.

· Monitor weather and environmental conditions; adjust programming as needed.

· Complete required documentation (inspections, reports, timesheets).

· Participate in required training and keep First Aid/CPR certification current.

Qualifications:

· Preferred: 1 year of adventure, ropes, or recreation experience.

· Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

· Prior experience in hospitality, education, coaching, customer service, corporate training, or camp work.

· Requires satisfactory background check.

· Comfortable with basic technology (smartphone apps, online tools).

· Effective communication, teamwork, and independent work skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

· Active engagement in indoor and outdoor environments with youth and adults.

· Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs.

· Must be able to perform duties while outdoors and exposed to variety of weather conditions.

· Facilitation in gyms, classrooms, pools, outdoor spaces, and camp settings.

· Strong work ethic and high level of trust.

· Demonstrate patience and understanding with staff and customers.

Pay: $15.50 - $17.50 per hour
