Full Job Description

**Quick Start **

We are Hiring Health Information Technician(HIT) to support medical records management, administrative tasks and inventory coordination within a Correctional Facility

Pay rate: $18/hr
Job Location: Orient, OH 43146
Shift: 7:30 AM -3:30 PM
Duration of Contract: 6 Months + extendable
Guaranteed hours: 40 hrs

Submissions must include:

Ohio Medical License
Current BLS/CPR Certification required
US Passport or Naturalization card if born outside US

Key Responsibilities

Review medical reports for completeness and required signatures.
Organize and file patient health information records.
Prepare charts for new admissions.
Complete and type medical forms, requests, reports, and certificates.
Compile statistical reports, including admissions, discharges, census data, Medicaid days, and length-of-stay information.
Retrieve medical records and provide information when authorized.
Maintain logs and filing systems.
Coordinate with other departments regarding medical record procedures.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Medical terminology.
Health information management practices.
Patient confidentiality requirements.
Medicare/Medicaid and healthcare record-keeping regulations.
Typing, data entry, and word-processing skills.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to identify missing or incomplete documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Records management training or experience (3 courses or 9 months of experience).
Medical terminology training or experience (1 course or 3 months of experience).
Typing training or experience (1 course or 3 months of experience).
Equivalent education and experience may be accepted.
