Full Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy estate planning legal practice. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing litigation support tasks, coordinating deadlines, and preparing court-related documentation with accuracy. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to day-to-day legal operations while working closely with attorneys in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and submit legal documents through electronic court filing systems while ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Maintain attorney calendars by tracking hearings, filing dates, appointments, and other time-sensitive legal commitments.
Coordinate civil litigation support activities, including document organization, case tracking, and follow-up on required filings.
Assist with the preparation and processing of court documents, correspondence, and other legal materials needed for active matters.
Monitor case schedules and proactively communicate important deadlines or required actions to the legal team.
Organize and maintain accurate legal records, filing systems, and matter-related documentation for efficient retrieval.
Provide administrative support to attorneys and office leadership as needed to keep daily legal operations running smoothly.
Prior experience working as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support position.
Hands-on experience with electronic filing systems and court filing procedures.
Working knowledge of civil litigation processes and related documentation requirements.
Strong calendar management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines accurately.
Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with legal team members and court contacts.
Proficiency in managing legal documents and administrative tasks with a high level of accuracy.
