Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Procurement Specialist to ensure the seamless flow of materials in a dynamic manufacturing setting. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in material requirements planning (MRP) and vendor negotiations to optimize costs, maintain quality, and ensure timely delivery. Your proficiency in SAP and strong analytical skills will be crucial in managing inventory and resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Execute purchase orders and coordinate delivery schedules to align with production needs.
Negotiate pricing agreements with vendors to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Maintain accurate data related to lead times, capacity, and material specifications.
Monitor inventory levels, proactively addressing slow-moving and obsolete materials to minimize waste.
Expedite or adjust shipment schedules in response to fluctuations in demand.
Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve material issues and manage the disposition of rejected items.
Validate invoices and work closely with the finance department to reconcile discrepancies.
Uphold adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and company policies.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Proven experience in procurement or buying, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in SAP is essential.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Preferred Skills

Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
APICS/CPIM certification is advantageous.
Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
