PCU Registered Nurse – Acute Leukemia & Hematology – Columbus, OH

Required Licenses/Certs: BLS, ACLS (preferred: ONS Chemo Cert, NIHSS)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Patient Patient Load: Focus on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients with a staffing goal of 1:4 or 1:5

What You’ll Do

Provide skilled nursing care to adult/geriatric leukemia patients
Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including dysrhythmias
Administer IV therapies, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines, including PICC lines
Care for patients with feeding tubes and utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
Adhere to infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
Document clinical findings using EPIC electronic charting system
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Self-schedule shifts within unit staffing needs for flexibility

What You Need

Valid RN license in Ohio or ability to obtain
Current BLS and ACLS certifications; chemo certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in hematology/oncology or critical care
Strong telemetry skills and ability to interpret dysrhythmias
Proficiency with IV therapy, blood draws, and line management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

About the Assignment
This assignment involves caring for patients with acute leukemia, focusing on infection prevention and fall risk reduction. The unit offers a dynamic work environment with flexible scheduling and a supportive team dedicated to your success. Orientation includes a week of day shift training followed by on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
