Job Description
Solü is seeking a Senior Technical Writer (.NET) to support the modernization and rewrite of a .NET application for a public sector client. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation, business process documentation, system requirements, workflows, and release materials while ensuring all documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with governance standards. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with software developers, business analysts, QA testers, program teams, and project leadership throughout the application modernization effort.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain architecture diagrams, API documentation, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams (ERDs), and system configuration guides.
Document current and future state workflows, including intake processes, billing flows, automated jobs, and system interactions.
Develop and maintain user guides, quick start guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and release documentation.
Create, revise, and maintain documentation templates, libraries, subscription lists, and version-controlled documentation.
Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, QA testers, project leadership, and business stakeholders to ensure documentation accurately reflects system functionality and business requirements.
Identify documentation gaps and recommend improvements to documentation standards and processes.
Review application team work plans, estimate documentation activities, and manage documentation schedules and priorities.
Track documentation-related issues, risks, and action items.
Promote documentation standards and best practices across technical and business teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure documentation aligns with organizational governance standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technology-focused field.
5–6+ years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting software development, legacy system migration, application refactoring, or modernization projects.
Experience creating technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, API documentation, data dictionaries, ERDs, system configuration guides, workflows, and user documentation.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and documentation best practices.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and collaboration skills.
