Full Job Description

Our client, a leader in design and manufacturing, is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk in the Columbus, OH area. The Accounting Clerk will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and preparing financial statements. This role requires both technical accounting skills and strong business acumen to understand financial dependencies and support decision-making. While primarily focused on Columbus, the position will also support various projects for their Buffalo office remotely.

The Day-to-Day:

Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and reports to ensure accurate month-end close.
Support the preparation of financial statements, reviewed by the Finance Director.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Process AP/AR transactions accurately and on time.
Provide variance analysis and insights into business performance.
Assist in system improvements, audits, and ad hoc requests.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience (including month-end close).
Effective communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
Strong knowledge of AP/AR processes and general ledger accounting.
Good understanding of financial analysis, risk management, and internal controls.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.

Pay Rate:

$28.00 to $32.00 /hr

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
