Machine Operator – Excavating

Position: Machine Operator – Excavating
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Machine Operator to join our excavating team. The ideal candidate will safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment on residential, commercial, and site development projects while maintaining a strong commitment to quality workmanship and job site safety.

Responsibilities

Operate excavating equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation.
Read and interpret site plans, grades, and project specifications.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance.
Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
Work closely with supervisors and crew members to complete projects on schedule.
Identify and report equipment issues or job site hazards.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Drug Free workplace

Qualifications

Previous experience operating heavy equipment in excavation, utility, or site development.
Ability to safely operate multiple types of construction equipment.
Knowledge of excavation techniques, grading, and trench safety.
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with GPS machine control systems.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Experience installing underground utilities, drainage, or septic systems.
