At Crawlspace Medic of Columbus, you won't be one of dozens of field employees managed from a distance.
We're a small, owner-operated company that's growing quickly, and we're looking for the right person to grow with us. We need an experienced tradesperson who can take ownership in the field, lead our projects, and become a key part of what we're building.
This isn't just another installer position. You'll work directly with the owner, have the trust and independence to run your projects, and become someone we rely on to keep jobs on track when the owner isn't on site.

What the Job Actually Looks Like
This is a working foreman position. You'll lead a two- to three-person crew through crawlspace and basement projects while working alongside your technicians every day. You're not standing back supervising — you're doing the work while taking responsibility for the job.
Our projects include crawlspace encapsulation, basement waterproofing, drainage systems, sump pumps, moisture control, insulation, and structural repairs.
The goal is simple: we want to hand you a project scope, a company vehicle, the materials, and a technician — and trust you to lead it through completion.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading a two- to three-person crew through encapsulation, waterproofing, structural repair (sills, joists, subfloors, girders, piers), drainage, and sump pump installs.
- Owning the job site — quality, safety, customer communication, materials, cleanliness, and progress.
- Reviewing the scope before starting and making sure the finished work matches what was proposed.
- Troubleshooting unexpected field conditions and communicating with the owner when something needs attention.
- Planning ahead on materials and tools so the crew isn't making unnecessary trips mid-job.
- Providing job-status updates and documenting work with photos.
- Flagging material and inventory needs for upcoming projects.
- Taking care of company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Helping train and develop technicians as the team grows.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys being trusted to take ownership of their work.
The right person understands how a job site operates, can work through problems, and takes pride in seeing a project through from start to finish.
Direct crawlspace or basement waterproofing experience is a major plus — but it isn't required. A strong candidate could come from residential construction, remodeling, carpentry, foundation repair, restoration, drainage, concrete, plumbing, HVAC, or another hands-on skilled trade.
We can teach our specific systems. What's harder to teach is the judgment, dependability, mechanical ability, and leadership that make someone good in the field.
Strong candidates will have:
- 3+ years of construction or skilled-trade experience preferred.
- Experience leading, training, or mentoring others on a job site — even informally.
- Strong mechanical ability and confidence with construction tools and equipment.
- The ability to read a scope of work and turn it into a completed project.
- Good problem-solving skills and the judgment to know when to make a call and when to ask.
- Professional communication skills — you're the face of the company in customers' homes every day.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work in crawlspaces, basements, and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs independently and heavier materials with assistance.
Framing and carpentry experience is a plus — particularly with joists, sill plates, subfloors, girders, and structural repairs.

What We Offer
- $25–$28/hour based on experience.
- Performance bonuses — rewarding quality workmanship, efficiency, reliability, leadership, customer experience, and completing jobs without preventable callbacks.
- Overtime opportunities when available.
- Paid time off — begins accruing after 90 days, with up to 40 hours of PTO during your first two years and increased PTO with tenure.

- All work gear supplied: shirts, pants, hats, headlamps, knee pads, and crawl suit. You provide your boots.
