Wilson Lawn and Field Services is a small business in Sunbury, OH. We are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, Heavy Equipment operator, Landscape/Hardscape worker, or Concrete Laborer to join our team.
Our ideal heavy equipment operator will:
A Heavy Equipment Operator drives, maneuvers, and maintains heavy machinery (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders) to excavate, move, load, and grade materials on construction or industrial sites. They are responsible for daily safety inspections, routine maintenance, interpreting site plans, and adhering to strict safety regulations.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machines such as backhoes, bulldozers, front-end loaders, excavators, and dump trucks to excavate, dump, or grade materials.
- Maintenance & Inspection: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, daily checks of fluid levels, and routine maintenance (greasing, cleaning) to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
- Site Preparation & Safety: Read and interpret grade stakes or survey markers; follow all company and site-specific safety protocols.
- Material Handling: Load and unload materials from trucks, assist in trenching, and support site preparation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Generally 2+ years of experience operating specific heavy equipment.
- Licensing: Clean Valid driver's license (preferred CDL).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75−100 lbs, work in extreme weather conditions, and perform manual labor (standing, walking, climbing) for long periods.
- Abilities: Strong hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and ability to read technical instructions and blueprints
A ideal landscaping/hardscaping worker will:
A landscape and hardscape technician installs and maintains outdoor environments, combining horticulture with structural construction. Duties include planting, mowing, and irrigation, alongside building patios, walkways, and retaining walls. This physically demanding, year-round role requires operating machinery, heavy lifting, and expertise in reading blueprints.
- Hardscaping: Constructing patios, stone walkways, retaining walls, and decks using concrete, stone, and brick.
- Landscaping: Planting trees, shrubs, and flowers; laying sod; and mulching, trimming, and fertilizing lawns.
- Maintenance: Operating blowers, mowers, and trimmers; repairing irrigation systems; and performing seasonal cleanups (leaf removal, snow/ice removal).
- Equipment Operation: Using skid-steers, mini-excavators, and other power tools.
- Job Site Safety: Following safety protocols, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining tools.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50–80 lbs, stand, and bend for long periods.
- Experience: Generally 2+ years of experience operating in landscaping/hardscapes
- Skills: Knowledge of horticulture and construction techniques, ability to read blueprints.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Our ideal concrete worker will:
A concrete finisher (or cement mason) prepares, places, finishes, and repairs concrete surfaces like floors, walls, sidewalks. They ensure concrete is properly leveled, smoothed, and cured, often using specialized tools to apply decorative or textured finishes. This role involves setting forms, monitoring curing, and requires physical stamina.
Job Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Setting and aligning forms, digging, spreading, and compacting sub-grade materials.
- Pouring & Finishing: Spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete using rakes, shovels, and screeds.
- Finishing Techniques: Using trowels, floats, and brooms to create smooth, textured, or decorative surfaces.
- Joint & Edge Work: Cutting joints, using edging tools for rounded edges, and ensuring proper curing.
- Equipment Operation: Utilizing concrete mixers, vibrators, grinders, and power saws.
- Quality Control: Monitoring the effects of weather on curing, checking for proper pitch, and inspecting finished work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in concrete construction.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Technical Knowledge: Reading blueprints, understanding grade, and knowledge of concrete mix designs.
- Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools (trowels, edgers) and power tools.
- Teamwork & Safety: Ability to work well in teams, follow safety protocols, and communicate with supervisors
The ideal candidate is well-versed in multiple aspects of dirt work, as well as an individual who enjoys working outdoors. This position requires a great deal of physical labor, and the successful candidate will have a background working in extreme weather conditions (including high heat and low temperatures)

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
