Full Job Description

Position: Recreation Leader

Qualifications: Childcare experience preferred but not required

High school diploma/G.E.D.

Must be available to work Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Previous experience working directly with children a plus. Some examples may include after school programs, summer camps, parks and recreation programs.

Pass a background check.

Reliability and punctuality a must.

General duties include the following:

Classroom Management -

Provide a safe and supervision environment for children at all times.
Interact with children in a positive and fun manner.
Follow the daily schedule.
Implement planned activities.
Manage student behavior through positive classroom management techniques.

Communication

Maintain positive relationships with families.

Maintains positive working relationships with the program director, co-workers and all other school personnel.

Maintain confidentiality in regards to student and family information.

Program Operations

Abide by all guidelines and policies set forth by the Board of Education.

Complete required annual assigned trainings.

Set up and clean assigned spaces daily

Maintain organization of program supplies and storage areas.

Perform all assigned duties and accept direction from management.

Professional Skills

Energetic, interactive, engaging and motivated!

Provide excellent supervision skills while engaging with children at the same time.

Must be ability to multitask.

Demonstrate flexibility and openness to new ideas in childcare practices and philosophy.

Physical Demands include lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, sitting, walking, and fully participate in all activities.

Responds immediately and appropriately to unexpected or emergency situations.

Maintains mental and physical alertness and appropriate level of energy at all times.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.32 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
