Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead and manage our organization's accounts receivable and collections functions. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely payment of invoices, maintaining strong cash flow, and minimizing credit risk.As a leader, you will oversee collection strategies, manage customer accounts, resolve disputes, and drive process improvements. You will also partner closely with our Operations, Sales, and Finance teams to achieve overarching financial objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operations Leadership: Oversee all accounts receivable operations, including billing support, collections, cash application, and account reconciliation.
Aging Management: Manage AR aging reports and develop strategic initiatives to reduce past-due balances and improve cash collections.
High-Value Collections: Personally lead collection efforts on high-value, complex, and delinquent accounts.
Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and optimize collection policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency.
Team Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and develop AR and collections team members, providing routine coaching and performance management.
Negotiation: Negotiate payment plans, settlements, and resolution strategies while protecting company interests.
Reporting & Metrics: Monitor key AR metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. Prepare and present AR reports, aging summaries, cash flow forecasts, and collection updates to leadership.
Reconciliation: Ensure timely, accurate application of customer payments and reconciliation of customer accounts.
Compliance & Close: Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations. Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to AR.
Strategic Partnership: Partner with Finance leadership to support cash flow management and organizational financial goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounts receivable and collections experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Industry Experience: Experience within landscaping, construction, facility services, or other service-based industries is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of AR management, credit practices, collections strategies, and financial reporting. Proficiency with standard office equipment and accounting software.
Core Competencies: Proven ability to lead teams, manage shifting priorities, and drive results. Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer relationship management skills. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Successful reduction of DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) to target levels.
Minimization of uncollectible accounts.
Diligent tracking of client adherence to agreed payment plans.
Speed and effectiveness in resolving billing issues.
Timeliness and completeness of payment processing.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
