Quality Assurance Specialist

Reports To: Director of Quality
Location: New Albany, OH
Pay: $19 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 2nd Shift (4pm-12:45am)

Position Summary

Accel is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist to perform routine inspections, quality checks, and production floor quality support. This role helps ensure that products meet customer specifications, documented standards, and applicable quality requirements. The QA Specialist will identify, resolve, document, and escalate quality or safety concerns during production.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate clearly across production, quality, maintenance, HR, and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Specialist will:

Serve as the quality lead for an assigned area, evaluating operational performance against customer requirements, internal standards, and applicable quality programs.
Perform routine inspections and quality checks during production.
Identify, document, resolve, or escalate product quality concerns.
Support compliance with standards such as ISO 9001:2015, SQF, or customer-directed quality programs.
Complete electronic documentation and maintain records according to established standards.
Collaborate with production supervisors, production managers, Finished Goods Expeditors, maintenance technicians, and other leaders on quality issues.
Assist with non-conformance assessments, findings, reports, CAPAs, and root cause analysis.
Support communication and training on enhanced quality standards when needed.
Monitor and measure performance against documented standards.
Collaborate with client QA teams on lean projects and other quality-related initiatives.
Support other quality duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment preferred.
QA experience in a regulated environment, such as food, preferred.
Experience using a digital QA workflow system preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Ability to multitask across multiple teams.
Ability to work independently and follow disciplined workflow procedures.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills.
Willingness to be cross-trained in other quality positions.
Bilingual in Spanish, French, Somali, or Chinese preferred.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Sit or stand through training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Use hands and fingers to inspect and manipulate product.
Reach overhead and push or pull product up to 20 lbs. as needed.
Lift product up to 50 lbs.
