Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab position requiring an OH or compact RN license and prior EP Lab experience.

Details

Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a hospital setting
Performs cardiac implant closure device procedures, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction and removal, arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, AICD insertion/programming, left atrial appendage (LAA) closure, and pacemaker insertion
Uses Epic EMR
Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
Call requirements include one week of weekday call every two months (6:30 PM-7:00 AM following the regular shift) and one weekend of 24-hour call coverage every two months
Call-ins are typically for pacemaker cases lasting approximately 2 hours, with generally low call volume

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
Minimum 2 years of experience required
Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab required
Epic EMR experience required
Skills in ACT, cardioversion, radiation and laser safety, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, sheath removal/monitoring, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and ventilator management preferred
Skills in arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, pacemaker insertion, scrub procedures, and tilt table study preferred
IV therapy skills including blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and starting/maintaining IVs preferred
Cardiac cath lab skills including cardiac implant closure device and pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction/removal preferred
Watchman procedure scrub experience preferred
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travel experience is not required
Locals are accepted at the same rate
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing the contract, either by driving to an Ohio fingerprinting location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if located a significant distance away
