Full Job Description

Wiric Corp is a Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in wire harness service kits, accessories, aftermarket solutions, and marine applications. With engineering and manufacturing operations in Rochester Hills and Harbor Beach, Michigan, as well as Santiago, Dominican Republic, we combine the agility of a smaller company with the capabilities and quality standards expected by leading automotive manufacturers.

As our Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams across all three locations, providing technical leadership, developing talent, and driving engineering excellence.

Position Summary

The Engineering Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership and strategic direction for engineering activities across multiple manufacturing locations. This role leads new product and process development, customer technical communication, engineering team development, continuous improvement initiatives, and manufacturing support activities. The Engineering Manager ensures successful program launches, compliance with customer-specific requirements, IATF 16949 standards, and company objectives while driving operational excellence through robust engineering processes and disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes and production tooling for all new product launches, ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSRs), APQP deliverables, PPAP requirements, and IATF 16949 standards. Maintain engineering ownership throughout the product lifecycle by leading PPAP submissions and approvals, supporting tooling design, procurement assistance, validation, maintenance, and engineering changes, providing ongoing technical support for production programs, resolving technical issues, and ensuring continued compliance with customer, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers regarding product development, engineering changes, launch activities, feasibility reviews, and PPAP submissions, ensuring customer requirements are clearly understood and successfully achieved.
Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams across three manufacturing locations through coaching, training, technical guidance, performance management, and professional development to build a strong engineering organization.
Collaborate with Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful, on-time product launches by coordinating engineering activities, resolving technical issues, mitigating risks, and achieving customer timing, quality, and cost objectives.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing processes, production equipment, and maintenance systems to improve safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) while reducing costs and downtime.
Manage the Engineering Change Management process, ensuring all product and process changes are evaluated, approved, documented, communicated, and implemented in accordance with customer requirements, internal procedures, and IATF 16949 standards.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal Engineering Guidelines, standards, procedures, and technical requirements to ensure consistency, compliance, and the use of engineering best practices across all locations.
Review, approve, and release product work instructions and engineering documentation through established document control procedures, ensuring accuracy, revision control, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Maintain process user guides, and general work instructions to ensure documentation remains accurate, current, standardized, and available to support safe and consistent manufacturing operations.
Provide technical support to Sales teams during quotation and feasibility activities by developing manufacturing concepts, process evaluations, technical risk assessments, and engineering recommendations to support accurate costing and successful program acquisition.
Ensure manufacturing, safety, and regulatory policies and procedures are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved to support compliance with company standards, customer expectations, applicable regulations, and IATF 16949 requirements.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support business objectives, operational improvements, customer commitments, and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
Proven experience in automotive manufacturing engineering, preferably within a Tier 1 supplier environment.
Strong knowledge of automotive quality systems, including IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, and customer-specific requirements.
Experience managing engineering teams and leading cross-functional projects.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, process development, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and locations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of automotive manufacturing documentation systems and controlled document processes.
Experience supporting automotive customer launches and engineering change processes.
Experience with multi-site engineering operations.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

Pay: $131,947.19 - $137,954.67 per year
