AFA Midwifery, Obstetrics & Gynecology
Concord | Westford | Leominster, Massachusetts

General Summary

AFA Midwifery, Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a highly organized and professional Patient Services Coordinatorto join our administrative team.

AFA is an established, independent, women-owned practice providing comprehensive obstetric, gynecologic and midwifery care across three locations in Concord, Westford and Leominster, Massachusetts.

The Patient Services Coordinator serves as an important point of contact for our patients and works collaboratively with physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, nurses and administrative professionals to support efficient practice operations and an excellent patient experience.

This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Provide professional and welcoming support to patients in person and by telephone
Coordinate patient check-in and check-out
Schedule and manage patient appointments across multiple providers and locations
Respond to a high volume of incoming telephone calls and appropriately route patient needs
Maintain accurate patient demographic, registration and insurance information
Perform insurance verification and identify issues requiring follow-up
Manage electronic documents, scanning and other administrative workflows within the electronic health record
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to address scheduling and patient care coordination needs
Recognize patient concerns requiring clinical attention and appropriately involve clinical staff
Assist with the resolution of patient scheduling and administrative concerns
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with patient privacy requirements
Support daily practice operations and changing administrative needs
Demonstrate accountability for assigned responsibilities and follow issues through to resolution
Perform other administrative duties as assigned

QualificationsRequired

High school diploma or equivalent
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated professionalism, reliability and sound judgment
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to work at our Concord, Westford and Leominster locations as scheduled

Preferred

Two or more years of experience in a medical office, healthcare setting or professional administrative role
Experience with patient scheduling, registration and insurance verification
Experience with electronic health record systems
Epic experience strongly preferred
Previous experience in women's health or a specialty medical practice
