Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Licensed Professional Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team to serve our EAP clients. In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical counseling services to diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and seniors, through telehealth platforms and also in your home location. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working remotely in a flexible environment that prioritizes client-centered care and professional development. Credentialing and onboarding takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks before clients can be seen.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs.
Deliver individual therapy sessions employing evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and Solution Focused Brief therapy (SFBT).
Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or behavioral crises, ensuring safety and stabilization.
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote positive behavioral change.
Provide specialized counseling for populations with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, addiction issues, grief, and gender-related concerns.
Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical documentation and detailed case notes within electronic health records while adhering to medical terminology standards.
Manage telehealth appointments efficiently while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements related to remote mental health services.

Qualifications

Valid state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or equivalent credential. No associates, please.
Proven experience in clinical counseling across outpatient, inpatient, or clinic settings with a focus on behavioral health or mental health counseling.
Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), grief counseling, addiction counseling, and social work principles.
Experience working with adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, and diverse cultural backgrounds.
Proficiency in crisis management techniques and crisis intervention protocols for mental health emergencies.
Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, medical records management, and HIPAA regulations.
Telehealth experience is highly preferred; excellent communication skills are essential for effective remote client engagement.
A professional office environment to see clients in person if requested.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries; strong organizational skills for documentation and case management tasks.

Pay: $60.00 per hour
