Tool Maker / Mold Maker

Location: Heise Industries – [East Berlin/CT]
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $22.00–$30.00 per hour
Hours: 40–45 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM; occasional Saturday mornings if necessary)

Heise Industries is a leader in precision manufacturing, dedicated to producing high-quality tooling and molds for a wide range of industries. We are seeking a motivated Tool Maker/Mold Maker to join our Final Assembly Department. All experience levels will be considered.

Job Summary

The Tool Maker/Mold Maker will be responsible for reading and analyzing blueprints and assembly drawings, performing surface grinding, and assembling and fitting mold components to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
Review bills of materials and verify inventory of components.
Perform surface grinding on aluminum, Moldmax, and steel using an automatic wet grinder.
Assemble and fit completed mold components.
Operate manual toolroom machinery (Bridgeport, lathe, bandsaw).
Conduct dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
Water-check mold cooling circuits and record flow ratings.
Perform taping and sandblasting to required grit.
Operate overhead cranes and lift trucks.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Record time and sign off routers accurately.
Cooperate with other departments and management, enforcing company operational and safety policies.
Travel occasionally as required.

Schedule

8-hour day shifts (5x8 schedule)
Overtime and weekend availability as needed

Ideal Candidate

Background in tool and die or moldmaking (injection, extrusion blow molding, thermoforming, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and understanding of mechanical assembly components
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical fit and function issues
Training-oriented mindset and willingness to cross-train others
Solid understanding of geometry, GD&T, and basic trigonometry
Experience in Laser welding/Micro Arc Tig welding, Polishing and hand working would be considered for additional compensation rate.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
