Full Job Description

Burness Insurance Agency, operating as Farmers Insurance in Montgomery, is seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to join our founding team.

The Sales Development Representative generates opportunities for our licensed sales team by contacting agency-provided prospects, verifying information, determining initial interest, and connecting qualified prospects with an Insurance Sales Representative.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to begin a professional sales career in a technology-driven organization. No insurance experience is required. Successful SDRs will receive paid training and support to obtain their Texas General Lines Property & Casualty and General Lines Life & Health insurance licenses, creating a path toward advancement into an Insurance Sales Representative position.

What You Will Do

Make high-volume outbound calls to agency-provided leads and prospect lists.
Coordinate initial communications with prospective clients by telephone, text, and email.
Verify prospect information and determine initial interest.
Connect qualified prospects with licensed Insurance Sales Representatives.
Schedule callbacks and appointments and provide complete, accurate handoffs to the sales team.
Maintain accurate activity, disposition, and follow-up information in the agency’s CRM and communication systems.
Work toward daily and monthly goals for outbound activity, conversations, and qualified opportunities.
Participate in coaching, call review, role-play, and insurance licensing coursework.
Represent the agency professionally and respectfully in every interaction.

The SDR does not advise prospects about insurance coverage or complete insurance sales unless properly licensed and authorized to do so.

Willing to obtain Texas General Lines Property & Casualty and General Lines Life & Health insurance licenses within six months.
Some college or previous customer service, telephone, sales, or appointment-setting experience preferred but not required.
Able to work full-time in our Montgomery office.
Background check required as part of the hiring process.

$28,800 annual base salary.
