Summary
The Production Control Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure customer delivery commitments are met through effective production planning, supply chain coordination, and manufacturing scheduling. The role partners with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics to optimize production capacity, material availability, and operational performance.
Primary Duties
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on customer demand, capacity, material availability, and business priorities.
- Coordinate production schedules with operations, balancing labor, equipment, supplier, and inventory constraints.
- Monitor schedule performance, adjust plans as needed, and lead regular production planning meetings.
- Establish production priorities and communicate schedule changes across the organization.
Supply Chain Management
- Manage procurement, inventory, supplier performance, and material availability to support production.
- Develop supply chain strategies that improve delivery performance, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while leading purchasing and strategic sourcing activities.
- Lead Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities.
Project & Performance Management
- Maintain integrated production and project schedules while identifying schedule risks and resource constraints.
- Develop recovery plans for production delays and monitor performance through KPIs and executive reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to resolve production bottlenecks.
Leadership
- Lead and develop production planning and production control personnel.
- Foster collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer Service.
- Drive accountability for schedule adherence, customer delivery, and continuous improvement.

Working Relationships
The position this job reports to is the Shop Director. Balancing planning and schedules with execution of the deliverables.
Compensation
The initial salary range is $152,200 to $175,100 based on experience and qualifications.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Years of Experience: 7–10 years of progressive experience in production planning, production control, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, or other complex discrete manufacturing environments.
- Preferred Licenses/Certification:
- APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- Software/Equipment Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and production planning methodologies.
- Experience with project scheduling, project controls, and schedule risk management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements needed to perform the positions, and possible working conditions that the employee could be working in.
Normal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours may be required based on specific requirements. Ground and air travel is required of this position. Ability to travel up to 50-60% is required. Work is performed at an established home office environment or headquarters office, and on industrial sites that require protective clothing and equipment. Work at facilities can occur around industrial hazards, in areas of high noise levels, and around new construction. Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain are essential. Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms are essential.
Fit for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
