Full Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Welder Department: Welding

Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Reporting Manager: Welding Foreman
___________________________________________________________________
Major Responsibilities/Activities:

Ability to pass welding test using Flux Core in horizontal position.

Capable of welding horizontally, flat and in overhead positions.

Ability to join parts by applying heat to permanently fuse the metal together.

Experience in operating hand-welding and/or flame-cutting equipment to join metal components or for the purpose of filling in spaces, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

The welder monitors the fitting, burning, and all welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of materials relating to warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion.

Usage of overhead cranes to move large pieces of material.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 75lbs

Bending, Stooping, Kneeling and Reaching

Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time

Required Skills:

Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience welding.

Ability to read small print on the shop drawings

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
