Full Job Description

CNC Machinist – CNC Mill Setup, Programming & Operation

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: Starting at $25.00/hour, with higher pay based on experience.

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong setup, programming, and operation experience on CNC mills. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys working in a job shop environment and is comfortable taking a project from blueprint review and programming through setup, machining, inspection, and final completion. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of GD&T, CNC machining processes, CAM/CAD programming, tooling, fixturing, and quality inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

Review work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and orthographic drawings to plan machining operations.
Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure parts meet required specifications.
Check material inventory and verify appropriate stock is available for machining projects.
Program, set up, and operate CNC mills using CAM/CAD software.
Utilize gauges and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and maintain required tolerances.
Monitor machining processes from initial setup through completion to ensure quality and productivity.
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to optimize processes and part quality.
Shape, sharpen, and adjust cutting tools to achieve required print tolerances.
Recommend improvements to tooling and fixturing as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance and ensure CNC machines, equipment, and tools are properly maintained and lubricated.
Complete labor reports, time records, quality documentation, and other required paperwork.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in a job shop environment.
Proven experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills.
Experience with CAM/CAD software and CNC programming; experience with GibbsCAM and/or EZ-CAM is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
Knowledge of basic inspection tools and precision measurement techniques.
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
