eNGINE is partnering with a local financial services company to add a Product Design Engineer to their growing design team. We're looking for a Product Design Lead who thrives on ambiguity, can quickly get oriented in an unfamiliar domain, dive into the work, and move on to the next challenge without needing a long ramp-up.

Key Responsibilities:

Rapid Immersion & Design Leadership: Quickly understand new business contexts and lead the creation of concepts, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed specs — often for teams unfamiliar with working alongside a designer
UX-Driven Problem Solving: Prioritize user needs, workflows, and usability over visual polish; know when to push back on requests that skip the thinking and jump straight to screens
User Research & Evaluation: Bring UX expertise to product definition through research, testing, interviews, and other inputs to improve usability and effectiveness
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders — many of whom haven't worked with a UX designer before — to build trust, shape design strategy, and align on priorities
Communication & Advocacy: Clearly explain design rationale and the "story" behind your decisions; advocate for UX best practices in environments where it isn't yet the norm

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience as a design professional, with deep UX expertise — this is a wireframing/UX role first, branding/visual design second
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting scope
Experience working on enterprise-scale products, ideally within larger organizations (in-house or consulting) — comfortable with consulting backgrounds, but candidates should have worked with reasonably sized companies, not only small startups
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly articulate the "why" behind design decisions to stakeholders unfamiliar with UX
Strong experience with Figma
Portfolio that shows your problem-solving and design thinking — not just final, polished screeens
Bachelor's degree in psychology, UX, design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent experienc3
