Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic COOK to join our culinary team, bringing passion and expertise to our food service operations. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing nutritious and appealing vegan meals, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our clients. Your culinary skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a small but fast-paced environment will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering quality food and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and supporting recipe development to meet dietary needs and preferences.
Prepare food items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, mixers, and other culinary tools.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following proper sanitation procedures, including cleaning utensils, surfaces, and food preparation zones.
Handle food safely by adhering to food safety management protocols, including proper storage, handling, and temperature control.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service delivery.
Support catering events or special meal requests by assisting with setup, food presentation, and cleanup activities.

Experience

Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
Proven background in food service or restaurant environments with strong culinary skills.
Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation techniques, and operating commercial kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices.
Experience in meal preparation for large groups or catering settings is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain high standards of food safety throughout all stages of preparation.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members.
