Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Billing/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical billing, coding, and records management will be essential to streamline operations, optimize revenue cycle processes, and maintain accurate patient documentation. The majority of the billing will be through Worker's Compensation Ins. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through precise billing practices and exceptional front-office support.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures
Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and medical history for accurate recordkeeping
Enter patient data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with precision
Prepare and submit insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards
Follow up on unpaid claims and manage medical collections to ensure timely reimbursement
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper documentation of procedures and diagnoses
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies

Requirements

Proven experience in medical office administration or medical billing with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), DRG classifications, and medical records management
Experience with medical billing processes including claim submission, follow-up, and collections
Ability to accurately interpret medical documentation for coding purposes
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and recordkeeping
Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, insurance providers, and team members
Knowledge of medical collection procedures and familiarity with insurance claim processing standards
