Dental Receptionist

Location: Kentfield, CA

Hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm

About Us:

Kentfield Dental is a premier dental practice dedicated to delivering outstanding dental care in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Conveniently located across from the College of Marin, our state-of-the-art facility features five operating rooms and ample dedicated parking for our patients and staff.

Our experienced team includes one hygienist, one dental assistant, one front desk coordinator, and a general dentist, all working together to ensure a seamless patient experience. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8am-5pm and break for lunch between 12-1pm. We cater primarily to an older and educated patient demographic in the heart of Marin County. Many of our patients have been with us for decades, and we pride ourselves in fostering strong relationships by taking the time to understand their unique needs and preferences.

At Kentfield Dental, we utilize Curve Hero, a cloud-based dental software, to enhance our practice's efficiency and patient care. We use a handheld x-ray unit and digital radiographs along with cutting edge digital scanning and crown milling for same-day service. Our comprehensive services encompass a wide range of specialty procedures, including cosmetic bonding and veneers, extractions, implants, and orthodontics. We are committed to excellence by employing the latest techniques and using high-quality materials to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Job Overview:

We're seeking a dedicated team member who will embrace our culture of respect, compassion, and positivity while becoming an integral part of our practice. In this role, your primary responsibility will be managing the front desk- answering phones, scheduling patients, and coordinating the appointment calendar to keep the day running smoothly. You'll work closely alongside our insurance and billing coordinator, supporting them as needed, and helping balance out the schedule throughout the day.

We require versatility and a willingness to pitch in with various tasks throughout the office- cross-training to assist chairside, including helping with sterilization, is a huge plus.

As a small practice of just four team members, we foster a collaborative environment where everyone contributes to delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

Front Desk Operations: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, manage check-in and check-out, and maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
Phone Management: Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route calls appropriately.
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule new and returning patients, manage the daily appointment calendar, coordinate follow-ups, and balance the schedule to keep the day running smoothly.
Patient Records: Enter and update patient information, maintain accurate and organized digital records.
Insurance & Billing Support: Work alongside our insurance verification and billing coordinator to support day-to-day needs, including verifying patient information and assisting with billing-related questions as needed.
Chairside Assisting (cross-trained): When needed, assist chairside with patient care and support clinical flow throughout the day. Prior experience is a huge plus.
Sterilization Support: Assist with disinfecting equipment, setting up and breaking down operatories, and following infection control protocols.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the dentist, hygienists, and clinical staff to contribute to a positive, efficient work environment.
Patient Communication: Connect with patients on a personal level, answer questions about scheduling and visits, and help ease anxiety for nervous patients

Requirements

Experience: Prior experience as a dental or medical receptionist strongly preferred. Front desk, scheduling, or patient coordination experience in a fast-paced office setting.
Knowledge: Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures. Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills (email, scheduling systems).
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and contribute positively to the clinic's culture.
Versatility: Versatility and a willingness to pitch in with various tasks throughout the office is required. Cross-training to assist chairside is a huge plus.
Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards in all interactions. Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Reference Check: Must provide previous employer references upon request.
Background Check: Must pass a criminal record and drug screening.
