Note* This is for a high-needs medical client. Shifts may include assistance with dressing, feeding, showering, and perineal care, among other tasks related to client care.

Overview
We are seeking healthy and responsible Direct Support Professionals(DSP). As a DSP, you'll play a crucial role in improving the lives of people in your community who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities.Ideal candidates will understand that this role goes beyond compassion—being a DSP requires a commitment to empowering individuals towards self-reliance, while also providing the assistance required to help them achieve their personal goals. This role is crucial in fostering independence and promoting healthy living for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

Daily Living Support: Assist individuals with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Care Plan Implementation: Execute tailored care plans to meet each individual's specific needs.
Social and Community Engagement: Support individuals in social interactions and community activities to promote inclusion.
Environment Maintenance: Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
Accurate Documentation: Record progress and note any changes in conditions or behaviors promptly and accurately.
Collaborative Care: Work with social workers, healthcare providers, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Emotional Support: Provide encouragement and foster a positive atmosphere for individuals.

Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills or experience:

Experience Preferred: Previous experience as a DSP or in assisted living or memory care settings is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with group home environments and in-home community care practices.
Expertise with Disabilities: Experience supporting individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
Care Plan Proficiency: Ability to effectively implement and follow individualized care plans.
Commitment to Quality Care: Dedication to maintaining a clean, organized work environment while providing high-quality care.
Professional Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Clean Record:Ability to pass a State-mandated background check. Proof of Drivers License in good standing & current automotive insurance.
Age & Required Education: 18 years of age or older, with a High school diploma or educational equivalent.

Successful candidates will be required to meet all Oregon State Department of Human Services eligibility and training requirements. This includes some preliminary training, obtaining CPR and 1st Aid training within 90 days of hire, and 12 hours of annual in-service training each year.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 40.0 per week
