Alyrica Networks is a locally owned internet provider that’s been connecting the Willamette Valley since 2002. We’re growing fast — building fiber into communities like Sweet Home, Halsey, Brownsville, and Adair Village — and we need more hands on our construction crew to keep up. We hire people who take ownership, do the job right, and look out for the customer and each other. If you like working outdoors, working with your hands, and seeing the results of a hard day’s work, we’d like to talk to you.

Position Overview: The Fiber Construction Technician will:

Install conduit and fiber drop lines using directional drilling, trenching, and plowing
Help place aerial fiber on poles
Plan bore paths, set up traffic control, and read and update construction maps
Operate and maintain construction equipment and hand tools
Keep the job site organized and communicate daily progress to your foreman
Work safely and follow OSHA and NESC standards, including job safety analyses

Salary: $22/hour - $42/hour

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
Provide clear directions, perform quality control, and ensure proper tool distribution.
Act as a mentor and provide training to less experienced technicians.
Work safely and efficiently, following all safety regulations and guidelines.
Conduct job safety analysis and ensure compliance with OSHA and NESC standards.
Fiber Installation and Maintenance:
Perform directional drilling, trenching, and plowing to install conduit and droplines for fiber optics.
Assist in placing aerial fiber on poles.
Maintain a strong work ethic and communicate daily operations to the Site Foreman.
Plan bore paths, set up traffic control, and read and update maps.
Tower Installation and Maintenance:
Maintain, install, and decommission tower components such as CAT5 cables, antennas, radios, fiber optic cables, DC power cables, and broadband equipment.
Climb and work on communications towers to install, replace, and repair antenna systems equipment.
Assist the Foreman with telecommunications site and tower construction.

Skills and Qualifications (required):

A valid driver’s license and a reasonably clean driving record
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and perform physical labor
Reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow through without hand-holding
A good attitude and a willingness to learn — we’ll train the right person
The ability to lift 75 lbs. and transfer 130 lbs. with the help of a person, a distance of 12 feet
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Skills and Qualifications (preferred):

Experience in construction, excavation, utilities, or underground work
Directional drilling, trenching, or plowing experience
Utility locating experience
A valid CDL — or willingness to earn one (we’ll help, and it raises your pay)
Familiarity with GIS mapping software

On Call:

Our techs share a 24/7 on-call rotation to handle network outages — roughly two weeks every twelve. On-call periods follow your normal 4×10 schedule, with availability outside business hours as needed.
