Full Job Description

Presbytery of Los Ranchos (PLR) Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Flexible) Location: Must reside within the geographic bounds of the presbytery

Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on experience

The Presbytery of Los Ranchos (PLR) is seeking a mission‑minded, highly skilled Director of Operations to provide leadership, continuity, and excellence across all operational and business functions of the presbytery. This role is central to ensuring the presbytery’s ministries are supported by strong financial stewardship, effective administrative systems, and well‑managed properties and resources.

About the Role

The Director of Operations oversees the operational life of the presbytery, complementing its mission and ministry work. This position is hands-on and is responsible for a wide range of business functions, including accounting, financial reporting, human resources, benefits administration, payroll, property management and development, contracts, insurance, and office operations.

The Director reports to the Executive Presbyter and works closely with the Trustees, Staff Relations Committee, and the Presbytery Treasurer, while supervising the Assistant to the Director of Operations and coordinating with outside service providers such as CPA firms, payroll services, property managers, IT providers, and legal counsel.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management – 75%

Maintain QuickBooks general ledger and supporting accounts.
Prepare, review, and track annual budgets.
Manage accounts payable and check distribution.
Prepare monthly financial statements, year‑end reports, audit documentation, and special reports.

Human Resources & Staff Relations-15%

Process semi-monthly payroll for all PLR employees.
Ensure compliance with employment policies and state/federal regulations.
Maintain and update the Manual of Operations for business functions.

Office/Property Management-10%

Collaborate with developers and property managers on valuations, redevelopment, repairs, and maintenance.
Develop long‑term property plans that support congregational and presbytery mission.

Qualifications

A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for serving others.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least five years of practical accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting standards.
Minimum five years of recent, related experience—nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage HR, operations, and outside service providers.
Proficiency with SharePoint, Dropbox, Excel, Word, Adobe, Expensify, and related tools.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; Korean or Spanish proficiency is a plus.
