Full Job Description

<Overview>
OSC Rentals is looking for an Assistant Manager at our Dilley, TX location. We are looking for someone that is highly organized, familiar with inputting order specifics, updates, etc and dispatch notes in a timely matter into our electronic system.

<Responsibilities>

Assist in overseeing daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate routing of freight using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams to schedule pickups, deliveries, and shipping activities while maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and professional communication.
Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and troubleshoot logistical issues proactively.
Enter and manage data related to shipments, freight details, and fleet information accurately within systems like AS400 and 3PL platforms.
Support fleet management activities by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules, driver logs, and compliance documentation.
Assist in analyzing transportation data to identify efficiencies or areas for improvement in supply chain operations.
Handle shipping & receiving documentation, coordinate with logistics partners, and ensure proper freight handling procedures are followed.

<Experience>

Previous experience in transportation management or logistics roles with familiarity in dispatching functions.
Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles, supply chain workflows, and freight movement processes.
Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or equivalent platforms.
Experience using GPS, GIS mapping tools, multi-line phone systems, and data entry software like SyteLine or AS400.
Excellent analysis skills to interpret transportation data for decision-making purposes.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly via phone and written correspondence while maintaining professionalism.
Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is preferred.
