Operations Department Overview

With in-house engineering, procurement, project management, and construction management expertise, our Operations group has established itself as a highly qualified and respected EPC partner in the electric utility industry.

From the start, we have maintained an unwavering focus on schedules and budgets to ensure successful project completion. Strong project management practices and proactive risk assessment allow us to enhance project controls, minimize scope creep, and prevent costly delays. Above all, we take pride in delivering projects that emphasize client satisfaction and mutual success.

Hourly Range: $43/hour - $55/hour (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)
Bonus: Semi-annual, performance-based (10% to 20% of salary)

Why This Role Matters:

As a Cost Engineer, you’ll be the financial cornerstone of our project controls team—owning cost analysis, budget tracking, and forecasting across EPC projects. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure cost transparency, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a strong analytical mindset, and wants to take ownership of cost-related decision-making.

What You’ll Do

Lead the development, tracking, and reporting of detailed project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
Collaborate with schedulers and project managers to ensure alignment between schedules, resources, and budgets
Review and analyze project cost performance to identify variances and provide actionable insights
Monitor earned value metrics and prepare comprehensive cost reports for internal and client stakeholders
Support procurement and contract cost control, including change order tracking and invoice reconciliation
Ensure financial compliance with corporate policies and support audits or reviews as needed
Assist with proposal cost modeling and baseline budget creation
Contribute to process improvements that enhance cost tracking and project visibility
Familiarity with P6 is a plus, but not a primary requirement

What You Bring

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Construction Management, or related field with experience in
Experience: 5+ years of Cost controls on EPC projects
Technical Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with reading project schedules in P6
Industry Knowledge: Utility experience is strongly preferred
Communication and Organization: Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Additional: Strong understanding of the overall Project Management Organization function
