Operations Support Specialist

Providence, RI
$35.00/hour
Long-Term Open-Ended Temporary Assignment
Hybrid Schedule

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: 3 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI

Premier Staffing Source, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Support Specialist to support the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) team.

This position supports a unique, agency-wide public health initiative focused on Workforce Development, Foundational Capabilities, and Data Modernization. The ideal candidate will have strong project coordination, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.

Position Overview

The Operations Support Specialist provides operational and administrative support for the implementation and management of the Public Health Infrastructure Grant. This role works across multiple RIDOH divisions, helping coordinate projects, maintain records, support procurement activities, and ensure successful execution of grant-funded initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation and administration of the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG)
Organize and maintain electronic records using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Support purchasing and procurement activities related to grant operations
Study and analyze operational procedures and prepare reports, findings, and recommendations
Coordinate communication and collaboration with PHIG teams in other states
Track projects, milestones, and deliverables across multiple strategy areas
Identify issues requiring follow-up and elevate concerns appropriately
Attend meetings and conferences on behalf of leadership and prepare meeting notes
Coordinate workflow among programs, divisions, and stakeholders
Perform additional administrative and project support duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Completion of at least two years of study at an accredited college or university
Experience supporting senior leadership or high-level officials in a government or public-sector environment
Experience coordinating complex projects, programs, or administrative initiatives
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines
Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Office 365
Familiarity with JIRA or other project tracking platforms
Experience supporting grants, public health initiatives, government operations, or strategic projects
Knowledge of government administration, policies, and procedures
