On-Site Supervisor

Reports To: Branch Manager

Location: Carol Stream, IL (on-site)

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday · 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

Compensation: $23.00/hour + bonus, paid weekly

The floor runs because you run it

Some people manage a shift. You own a site. At Midway Staffing, the On-Site Supervisor is the person standing between a client's production line and chaos, and the reason that line never notices the difference. You're embedded right where the work happens, the first face associates see in the morning and the first call the client makes when something moves. When a crew shows up short, you don't panic. You've already got it handled.

If you're the kind of person who'd rather be on the floor than behind a desk, keep reading.

Your day, start to finish

You'll open the site and set the tone before the first shift clocks in. You'll run attendance the second the day starts, catch the call-offs early, and fill the gaps before anyone downstream feels them. You'll be visible all day, walking the floor, checking in with associates, keeping the client's supervisors in the loop so nothing catches them off guard. Timecards approved and accurate. Incidents documented right the first time. The difficult conversation nobody else wants to have, handled calmly and professionally before it grows into a problem.

The people who win in this role are the ones who see the staffing crunch coming a day out and solve it quietly. Who hold associates accountable and stay fair doing it. Who treat the site's numbers like their own, because attendance, retention, and productivity all live and die on how well you run the floor.

What you'll own

You're the primary point of contact at the client site, and you own the relationship. You'll build real trust with client leadership and associates alike through the simplest thing there is, following through every single time. You'll coordinate onboarding, background checks, and new hire paperwork, then lead first-day logistics so every new associate starts strong. You'll support payroll by keeping timecards clean and accurate, check in constantly with clients and associates to catch issues before they escalate, and partner with your recruiters and Branch Manager on the workforce planning that keeps the site stable through turnover, morale swings, and peak volume. When something needs to go to the branch, it goes because it genuinely needs to, not because it landed on your desk.

What tells us you'll crush it

You build trust fast and you keep it through consistency. You communicate clearly and directly with everyone from a nervous first-day associate to a demanding client contact, and you know exactly when something needs to escalate and when you should just handle it yourself. You stay organized under pressure, keep your documentation tight, and you don't flinch at a hard conversation. When the day changes on you at 6 AM, you respond calmly and decisively instead of scrambling. And you take real ownership of your site, the good days and the tough ones.

The practical must-haves:

High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years in staffing, recruiting, HR, or administrative support (staffing agency experience is a bonus)
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Comfortable running in-person and phone interviews with sharp attention to detail
Solid with Microsoft and/or Google Suite, and prior ATS experience is a plus
