Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support day-to-day financial operations in a contract capacity. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate accounting records, processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently
Perform bank account reconciliations and research discrepancies
Manage client-related financial transactions, deposits, disbursements, and account activity
Support month-end close processes and assist with financial reporting
Maintain accurate accounting records and organized documentation
Respond to accounting, billing, and payment-related inquiries
Monitor account balances and ensure transactions are recorded correctly
Assist with cash management and payment processing activities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support daily accounting operations
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience
Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Experience supporting month-end close activities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to prioritize workload and work independently with limited supervision
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
College-level accounting coursework, accounting degree, or equivalent professional experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a professional services environment
Familiarity with client fund accounting, trust accounting, or specialized accounting processes
Experience with accounting, billing, or ERP software platforms

Work Environment

Contract opportunity supporting an established accounting team
Collaborative environment with interaction across multiple departments
Opportunity to contribute immediately and provide critical accounting support during a temporary assignment
Hybrid flexibility may be available after an initial onsite training period depending on business needs
