ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Shift Leader to be the heartbeat of our newest location. You'll lead by example, inspire your team, and ensure every customer walks out with a smile and a delicious sub in hand. This is your chance to step into a leadership role where your decisions directly impact both your team's success and the customer experience.

As our Shift Leader, you won't just supervise—you'll mentor, motivate, and be the go-to person when questions arise. You'll create a positive, collaborative environment where team members feel valued and eager to do their best work.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're building this new location from the ground up and need leaders who are ready to help us succeed from day one. If you're ready to grow with us, this role offers a clear path to General Manager and beyond.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead and supervise your team with a positive attitude and strong work ethic that sets the standard for everyone around you
* Train, mentor, and develop team members to meet performance expectations and help them grow
* Handle difficult situations calmly and professionally, turning challenges into learning opportunities
* Greet and engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere where they feel valued

DAILY OPERATIONS

* Ensure food preparation and presentation meet Jersey Mike's exacting standards every single time
* Manage opening and closing procedures to keep operations running smoothly
* Handle cash and register operations with accuracy and integrity
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking supplies
* Foster a positive and collaborative team environment during each shift
* Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures
* Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the restaurant
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

DRIVING RESULTS

* Address guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns professionally and promptly
* Help achieve sales goals and operational targets alongside your team
* Support the location in building a strong customer base and reputation

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills—you lead by example, not by barking orders
* Excellent customer service skills with a genuinely friendly and outgoing personality
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
* Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards
* Comfort with technology including POS systems
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (we are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter)
* Valid Driver's License
* Restaurant or retail leadership experience is preferred but not required—we'll train the right person

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Full-time position: 35-40 hours per week
* Typical schedule includes 4-5 shifts with at least one weekend day per week
* Flexibility required for holidays and seasonal peak periods
* Fast-paced, team-oriented environment where your energy and attitude matter

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

* Hourly Rate: $17-$19/hour + tips, based on experience (our tips average an extra $4-$5 an hour!)
