Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner specializing in Orthopedic and Interventional Pain Management. This energetic role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive patient care, utilizing advanced clinical skills to manage acute and chronic pain conditions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment, applying your expertise to improve patient outcomes and enhance quality of life. You will have the privilege to work with two Ortho Surgeons and Provide musculoskeletal/interventional pain managment care across several locations. We offer training as well.

Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
Administer injections such as Botulinum toxin treatments and other interventional procedures following aseptic techniques.
Manage acute pain episodes through medication administration, procedural interventions, and non-pharmacologic strategies.
Utilize EMR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and data collection.
Perform diagnostic evaluations including diagnostic imaging review, CPT coding, ICD coding, and interpret findings to guide clinical decisions.
Coordinate care with specialists in hospital settings, including ICU, telemetry units, or surgical teams for complex cases requiring critical care or ventilator management.
Engage in telehealth consultations to extend pain management services remotely, ensuring continuity of care for diverse patient populations.

Experience

Proven experience in outpatient or hospital-based pain management settings with familiarity in acute care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine environments.
Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for medical records management and data collection.
Knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards and CPT coding procedures for billing and documentation accuracy.
Skills in performing procedures like suturing, spinal taps, catheterizations, and airway management are preferred.
Experience with clinical research or participation in clinical trials related to pain management or interventional treatments is a plus.
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessment and treatment planning.
