Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Code: FIM01 /Mgr, Accounting/Financial Svcs

Shift: Full-Time (40 hours per week on average)

Job Hours: Day: 40 hours - Monday through Friday; 8:00am 5:00pm

Base Location: Headquarters – Lawrenceville, GA.

Division/Department/Program: Business Services

View Point Health is a community behavioral health center utilizing a team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed counselors and social workers, as well as other professionals to provide services to individuals who need treatment and support to cope with mental illness, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. View Point Health serves uninsured, underinsured, low-income Medicaid, Medicare, war veterans and some private insurance across multiple locations with a full continuum of behavioral health services and support.

The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of an organization by ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective management of accounting operations. This position requires a combination of technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, analytical ability, and strong communication to guide financial strategy and support business decisions

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
Perform month-end duties and in-depth analysis of revenue/ expenditures, create journal entries and reports
Develop, implement, and monitor budgets; prepare financial forecasts; analyze variances; and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
Attention to detail for accurate reporting, identifying discrepancies, and resolving operational inefficiencies
Manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and projects efficiently while maintaining high accuracy
Analyze financial data, identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management
Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy
Communicate promptly with internal and external vendors.
Assist and lead audit preparation
Other department related duties assigned by leadership.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Oversees Accounting operations, which include financial accounting and accounts payable.
Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
Oversees the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and three (3) years of professional accounting job-related experience, which includes one (1) year in a supervisory role; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Accountant Supervisor (FIP024) or position equivalent.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and job or intern experience, training, or certification that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience
Account reconciliation and month end responsibilities.
Experience with ERP systems for example Sage, Oracle, SAP, or other accounting systems.
Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
Strong work ethic and team player.
Ability to deal appropriately with confidential material.
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
Ability to communicate with various levels of management and staff.
Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to multi-task.

Requirements/Competencies:

Must be able to lift 20 pounds,
Requires long periods of sitting/standing,
Must be 21 years of age,
Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.

Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
