Full Job Description

Job Summary

Lone Star Counseling & Assessment Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Full-Time Mental Health Therapist to join our growing group practice in Frisco, Texas.

We are looking for a clinician who values providing high-quality, evidence-based care while working in a supportive and collaborative private-practice environment. This position is ideal for a therapist who enjoys clinical work and would like the opportunity to maintain a consistent caseload without the administrative responsibilities associated with running a private practice.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough mental health assessments utilizing clinical documentation standards and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Deliver individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy
Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or co-occurring disorders
Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations to ensure quality patient care
Utilize EMR/EHR systems for detailed documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with clinical documentation standards
Engage in case management activities including patient communication, follow-up care coordination, and community resource referrals
Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance evidence-based practices and improve client outcomes

Qualifications

Valid licensure as a Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), LPC, LCSW, or LMFT with current state certification or license to practice independently.
Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics in outpatient or inpatient settings
Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and behavioral health interventions
Familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), co-occurring disorders, PTSD care needs, chronic pain counseling, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling is highly desirable
Proficiency in telehealth therapy platforms and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation and patient records management
Ability to manage crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent client communication skills
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines to ensure confidentiality and professional integrity
