Full Job Description

Job description:

Our law firm is currently seeking a qualified and motivated Title Curative Paralegal to join our foreclosure and default servicing team. This role works closely with an attorney and paralegal/manager to support the day-to-day operations of the law office, with a primary focus on identifying, tracking, and resolving title issues to ensure files remain compliant and move forward efficiently.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solution-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Review and Resolve Title Issues

Review title reports, commitments, and related documents to identify and assist in resolving title defects, including missing or incorrect documents, open liens, judgments, vesting issues, probate or trust concerns, bankruptcy-related issues, and legal description discrepancies.

Collaborate with Attorneys and Legal Staff

Work closely with attorneys and management to determine appropriate curative actions and assist with resolving title issues in compliance with legal and client requirements.

Prepare and File Curative Documents

Draft, organize, and file curative and corrective documents such as affidavits, declarations, satisfactions, releases of lien or judgment, corrective instruments, and related legal filings.

Coordinate with Internal and External Parties

Communicate professionally with attorneys, internal teams, title companies, trustees, servicers, courts, and other third parties to obtain documentation and move curative matters forward.

Track and Monitor Curative Progress

Monitor the status of curative actions, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure issues are resolved timely and accurately.

Maintain Accurate Records

Ensure all file notes, documentation, and updates are accurately maintained in firm and client systems.

Support Compliance and Quality Control

Assist in ensuring files remain compliant with client guidelines, firm procedures, and applicable legal requirements.

General Legal and Administrative Support

Provide additional administrative and case-handling support to the legal team as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
